John Wesley fue un clérigo y teólogo británico, nacido en Epworth, el 17 de junio de 1703. Se lo reconoce como un importante predicador, de cuya palabra se inspiró el Movimiento Metodista inglés, que comenzó con prédicas al aire libre. Fue el decimoquinto de diecinueve hijos de Samuel y Susana Wesley.
