Oberlin Conservatory offers a range of small ensembles, including jazz and piano ensembles, and various chamber music groups. Oberlin Conservatory and Double Degree Program students are expected to participate in a small ensemble. 9 de mar. de 2022 · Formed in 2018, the Sonny Rollins Jazz Ensemble was made possible through a generous gift to Oberlin Conservatory by Rollins, the revered jazz saxophonist and composer. More than a mere spot in an elite unit, membership in the ensemble requires a commitment to service through music and willingness to give for others—core principles exemplified by Rollins, now 91, throughout his life and career.
Each year Oberlin Conservatory of Music live streams roughly 400 concerts from eight campus venues. These live streams showcase student ensembles and degree recitals, master classes and jazz clinics, as well as performances by select faculty and guest artists. Performance spaces fitted with the capability to stream concerts are Finney Chapel, Kulas Recital Hall, Warner Concert

The concert will feature the performance and arrangements of Oberlin Jazz Studies alumnus Jake Silverman '14, a GRAMMY-winning arranger, jazz pianist, jazz organist, electronic musician, composer, and educator.
