In 1973, Lee left the band, of which he was one of the founders, to pursue a solo career. He returned in 1988. Ten Years After released 11 studio albums between 1966 and 2008, and Lee had 14 solo albums in his career, until “Still on the Road to Freedom” in 2012, his last release. Alvin Lee’s death

L'âge d'or du groupe est relaté dans lecoffret de 10 CD 1967-1974 qui paraît en 2018 et comprend un album inédit de séances françaises à Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat (The Cap Ferrat Sessions), datant de 1972.
