This cape was designed by Elvis' designer Bill Belew so that when Elvis came on stage, he could be 'hidden' behind the long cape. The idea was that Elvis would appear on stage for this world-first event, behind the cape and at the end of the Aloha Intro, he would drop the cape and turn to face the audience, revealing himself to the waiting crowd.

7 de ene. de 2013 · Fifteen years later in June 1988 (more than a decade after Elvis’ death), the show was finally issued on CD as The Alternate Aloha. In early 1973, Elvis Presley was performing at one of the highest peaks of his career, and ALOHA FROM HAWAII VIA SATELLITE is proof positive of that.
11 de feb. de 2007 · Musically I prefer the Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite concert that was broadcast on TV 2 days after this rehearsal concert, although on this ALTERNATE ALOHA rehearsal show Elvis performs a few songs better than he did on the televised concert, notably "Steamroller Blues." I think overall this is a good concert, but yeah on some songs he's sluggish and on a few he flubs some lines.
