During the early 90’s,Trower returned back to Procol Harum for a brief reunion (1991’s Prodigal Stranger), before backing ex-Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry on a few releases (1993’s Taxi and 1994’s Mamouna, the latter of which Trower earned a co-producer credit for). The 90’s saw Robin consistently touring the USA with his power trio.
Robin along with the vocal talents of James Dewar, a hard-living Scot, whose voice will always be associated with the Robin Trower Band proved to be a musical powerhouse. Robin soon found himself outselling Procol by a considerable factor as he tuned in to the heavier zeitgeist of a new decade, his second album, ‘Bridge Of Sighs’ reached the Top 10 in the States.
Après avoir quitté Procol Harum, Trower débute sa carrière solo en 1973 avec Twice Removed from Yesterday et explose l'année suivante avec Bridge of Sighs.Il fait équipe avec l'ancien bassiste de Cream, Jack Bruce, pour BLT en 1981 et Truce en 1982. Dans les années 90, il travaille avec Bryan Ferry sur Taxi en 1993 et Mamouna en 1994. En 2007, Trower et Bruce sortent Seven Moons.
