In early 1973, the Flying Burrito Brothers name was dissolved by Rick Roberts after leading a band with no original members on a tour of Europe to fulfill touring obligations left unfinished when Chris Hillman left in October, 1971. Later in 1973, the death of Gram Parsons created quite a bit of posthumous interest in his music, and that included his time with the Flying Burrito Brothers.
As Gram Parsons's influence and fame grew, so did interest in the Flying Burrito Brothers, leading to the release of Honky Tonks (1974), a double album, and the recreation of the band by Kleinow and Ethridge in 1975.
