Happy The Man é um grupo americano de rock progressivo, formado no início dos anos 1970. Especializado na escrita e execução de temas instrumentais de grande complexidade rítmica e harmônica, o grupo gravaria dois álbuns antes da saída para os Camel do teclista Kit Watkins, e apenas retornaria ao ativo em 2000, com David Rosenthal a ocupar o lugar deixado vago por Watkins.

It was recorded in February, 1979 at the band house in Reston, Virginia using a Teac 3340 4-track recorder. Basic tracks were played live by all members. Flute, sax, vocals, and some solos were overdubbed.

I picked this up during the early/mid 80's while visiting a vinyl trade show in Oregon. Recordings made by the band in 1979, and released independently by Kit Watkins on his own short lived 'Azimuth' label in 1983. On the back cover of the LP, the credits are as follows; "This is the final tape made by Happy The Man.

Happy The Man (HTM) is een Amerikaanse progressieve rockband.. De band wordt opgericht in 1973 in Harrisonburg (Virginia) door onder andere Kit Watkins, de toetsenist.De naam van de band is ontleend aan Faust van Goethe; in de Engelstalige versie komt de zinsnede happy the man vaak voor. Achteraf komt men er ook achter dat een collegaband Genesis een gelijknamige compositie heeft afgeleverd.
