21 de jul. de 2015 · Quicksilver Messenger Service s live album Happy Trails is strikingly visual enough to paint a metaphorical sound canvas in your mind. But this is not as wonderful as I have made it out to be. They juxtapose what they are trying to visualize among many different moods, whether it be experimenting on blues, or brooding despondency.
History. This was Quicksilver Messenger Service's first album, although they had already produced two songs for the soundtrack of the 1968 movie Revolution. Original singer/guitarist Jim Murray quit the group in August 1967 just prior to this album's recording and does not appear, as they adjusted to a four-man format.

Happy Trails is the second album of the American band Quicksilver Messenger Service. Happy Trails consists mainly of a performance cover of Bo Diddley's - aka Ellas McDaniel - "Who Do You Love?" spread out over 25 minutes.
"Happy Trails" is a short coda at the end, and it marks the end of Duncan's participation in the group for a year. I just wanted to add that QMS continued with Nicky Hopkins on piano, replacing Duncan. "Shady Grove" is a very different album than the first two Quicksilver products, but I think it has a lot to offer in a mostly quiet way.
Hoewel Quicksilver Messenger Service al snel in de problemen kwam door vermeend drugsbezit, begon de groep in 1965 aan een tour langs de westkust van de Verenigde Staten.
