13 de mar. de 2024 · The King of Staten Island is bij vlagen aandoenlijk en humoristisch, maar regisseur Judd Apatow pakt nergens echt door. Het verhaal blijft teveel op de oppervlakte waardoor 2 uur en 15 minuten te langdradig is om echt bij de les te blijven. De film is, net als het eiland, het allemaal net niet.

It's lost in a tonal valley, unsure of how to wring comedy from trauma and depression, but also unwilling to really consider either. Available On Demand on 6/12.
