4 de feb. de 1991 · I like my solos and actual lyrics, not screams and breakdowns. For me, War Master really delivered. From the first track to the last its a never ending stream of grinding Death Metal that obliterates everything in it's path. With a sound that so many could only hope to emulate because no other band carries the same weight that Bolt Thrower does.
War Master’s cover art work was produced by Games Workshop. Jo Bench, Bolt Thrower’s bass player, is generally considered to be among the earliest female members of an extreme metal band. Their early demo “Concession of Pain” was sent to the legendary radio DJ John Peel that almost immediately offered them a radio session.

Bolt Thrower is a band that I brushed off in the late '80s/early '90s because of my aversion to harsh vocals, but it is now time to give them another chance. The band's third album, 1991's War Master , didn't have a review here at The Metal Crypt and it was one I encountered upon its original release, so here goes.
Each album comes in an individual jewel case, with j-card artwork and full on-body artwork on the cassettes, packaged carefully in a foam tray inside a deluxe Bolt Thrower-branded box set.
