7 de abr. de 2008 · Ich schließe mich meinen Vorgängern, die 5 Sterne vergaben an. Tolle Musik finde ich. Gute Mischung aus Blues, Jazz und Funk. Die Aufnahme ist auch ordentlich. Wer noch mehr von Eric Burdon and WAR oder von WAR hören möchte sollte sich unbedingt die CDs "Eric Burdon Declares WAR" und von WAR "The World is a Ghetto" zulegen.

The Black Man's Burden Summary “ The Black Man’s Burden” by H. T. Johnson is an 1899 poem that critically and satirically responds to Rudyard’s Kipling’s “The White Man’s Burden.”
The concert coincided with a major reissue campaign by Rhino Records (UK), which released all the War albums including Eric Burdon Declares "War" and The Black-Man's Burdon. The version of the band that performed alongside Burdon in 2008 at the Royal Albert Hall was not the original band but a reformed one led by the only original member, keyboardist Lonnie Jordan .

At 90 minutes long though, the album is hard going, tends towards the progressive and incorporates all sorts of jazz, latin, soul, funk, rock and psychedelia into its DNA.
