Jane Popincourt, född okänt år, död efter år 1516, var en engelsk hovfunktionär, känd som älskarinna till Henrik VIII av England. Hennes bakgrund är ofullständigt känd. Hon uppges ha kommit från franska Flandern, där det fanns en adlig familj med namnet Popincourt.
8 de feb. de 2016 · There was also Jane Popincourt, a maid of Henry’s sister Mary, who was refused entry to France in 1514 by King Louis XII on account of her immorality. This, coupled with Henry’s choice of her as a dance partner the following spring and his generous gift of £100 to allow her to leave, have led to speculation that Jane had shared his bed.
Henry’s women were uniquely placed to experience the tension between his chivalric ideals and the lusts of the handsome, tall, athletic king; his first marriage, to Catherine of Aragon, was, on one level, a fairy-tale romance but his affairs with Anne Stafford, Elizabeth Carew and Jane Popincourt undermined it early on.
