In 2009 Chipperfield presented an exhibition of his work under the title Form Matters. The exhibition demonstrated five beliefs Chipperfield holds on current architectural practice. The title Form Matters identifies the two entities that an architect must realise in every project: form and matter; those are a building’s shape and its materiality.
