About Ginger Baker While Ginger Baker is best known as the brilliant percussive force behind the legendary '60s bands Cream and Blind Faith, he has had a restless and varied solo career since then. The first leg of it included a stint as the leader of Ginger Baker's Air Force, a large jazz-fusion outfit that recorded two well-received albums in 1970.

This is the Palanquin's Pole album with 3 additional tracks, African Force, Sokoto and Adoa, all studio tracks recorded in Germany presumably around the same time that tracks 6-10 were recorded by Radio Bremen. I like it well enough as Ginger's percussion has always been more interesting than the norm and the African rhythms complement his work.
