The Romantics. American power pop and new wave band formed in 1977 in Detroit, Michigan. Lineup: Coz Canler (vocals, guitar), Wally Palmar (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Mike Skill (bass, guitar, vocals) & Jimmy Marinos (vocals, drums, percussion).
Music career. At 16, Badanjek (pronounced: buh-DAN-jek) was the drummer for the Detroit rock and roll band Billy Lee and The Rivieras who later changed their name to Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. The rock critic Dave Marsh later described him as an "unknown genius" for his drum break on their single "Devil with a Blue Dress On".
The Romantics originally released Talking in Your Sleep written by Coz Canler, Jimmy Marinos, Mike Skill, Peter Solley and Wally Palamarchuk and The Romantics released it on the album In Heat in 1983. It was also covered by Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star, Nichole Alden, We'll Always Have Paris, Rock n' Roll Baby Lullaby Ensemble and other artists.
