Why Call It Anything is the fourth and final album of original material and fifth studio album overall by English rock band the Chameleons. It was recorded from 2000 to 2001 and released 1 July 2001 on record label Artful. The album marked their first and only release of all-new material since the 1990 EP Tony Fletcher Walked on Water.... La La La La La-La La-La-La.
21 de oct. de 2006 · The live album has Fielding playing the eucalyptus tree made didgeridoo. Asanti quotes The Beatles in Second Skin and tries to talk up The Chameleons supporters, or mere viewers. I caught the sister-gig at the Hammersmith Odeon, 2000. I understand The Chameleons will have a new studio album out this year (2023). That should be fun.
11 de jun. de 2023 · Ik vind Why Call It Anything behoorlijk goed meevallen. Als je ook wat rond surft op het internet, dan zijn er behoorlijk wat die deze plaat goed vinden. Muziekgids Allmusic gaf 4 sterren voor deze plaat. Maar natuurlijk, het is maar hoe je het bekijkt. De magie is wat weg en de nummers zijn een tikkeltje minder maar ik ben best tevreden.

28 de jun. de 2013 · Why Call It Anything is a strange album. It was released in 2001, one year after the band reunited to release an album of acoustic re-recordings of their old material (Strip). It clearly sounds like the Chameleons, but it feels more direct, less dreamy and abstract. The songs have simpler arrangements, less dynamic range, and less subtlety.
Why Call It Anything A mere 15 years after their last one, The Chameleons re-emerge from solo projects, off-shoots and generally not doing much musically, to deliver a proper album. Sensibly sticking to their original line-up this is one of the occasions where a mid-80s revival is worthwhile and there are a few tracks here which wouldn't be put to shame on their brilliant compilation album ...
