25 de jul. de 2006 · A Show of Hands encapsulates Rush's "new wave" period, a much maligned era in their evolution. I love this period, it's not hard to separate earlier Rush from this and appreciate what they were doing at this time, using different instrumentation, more synth and taking in strong influences from post-punk 80's contemporaries.
9 de nov. de 2021 · The Rush Remasters The Rush Remasters from 1997 and 2004 are generally not well-liked for having compression and EQ choices that many here consider to be thin or bright. Compression on them varies from moderate (Caress of Steel, A Show of Hands) to somewhat heavy-handed (Power Windows, 2112).
Like every era of Rush's career, they usually end things with a live album. The synth era was no different, with their third live release, 1989's A Show of Hands. First things first - the video version of this release is infinitely better, due to the fact that we get to see late 80's renditions of Rush classics like "In The Mood" and "Tom Sawyer".
