Chris Whitley was a man both out of place and out of time. While he’s primarily known for being a country singer, he doesn’t fit the mold at all. His songs are not filled with pleasant harmonies, the returning of a long lost love, or so much of the simple minded country music that weighs me down and makes me tired.
