Admissions. We are an academically selective day school for in the heart of the Square Mile, and there are four main entry points to the School: 10+, or Year 6, we call this Old Grammar. 11+, or Year 7, our First Form. 13+, or Year 9, our Third Form. 16+, our Sixth Form.
The senior school encompasses years 9, 10 and 11. Year 9 continue with the wide range of subjects they studied in years 7 and 8. Year 9 are given the opportunity to drop one subject (one of their languages, Latin or computer science) if they wish, allowing them the opportunity to begin to narrow their curriculum ahead of their GCSE studies in year 10.
Outside of the classroom, the sixth form provides students with a wide range of exciting opportunities. We offer a general studies programme where students select four courses of interest to them, such as photography, first aid, sign language, cooking, medical ethics and astronomy. Bursaries at City. We are proud to say that we have around 100 pupils at City receiving bursary support, i.e. financial assistance of up to 100% of our school fees.
