4 de ago. de 2016 · The prog musicians of the 70s had often travelled long journeys to reach the topography they arrived at in their pomp, and Steve Hackett was no exception. He was playing harmonica from the age of eight and by his mid-teens had developed an infatuation with blues guitar which, despite his later musical elaborations, he considered the most raw and direct way to convey rock emotion.
"Blues with a Feeling" is a blues song written and first recorded by Rabon Tarrant with Jack McVea and His All Stars in 1947, as the B-side of "Slowly Goin' Crazy Blues". Although the original release was commercially unsuccessful, the song later became an important hit for Little Walter , with whom it is usually identified.

Of course we know Steve Hackett as one of the archetypical progrock guitarplayers and a decent classical guitarist but how about those blues roots. Well, on this CD I was delighted about Hackett his blues guitar work and harmonica play in the covers Born In Chicago, The Stumble, Blues With A Feeling and So Many Roads.
