Magdalene College (/ ˈ m ɔː d l ɪ n / MAWD-lin) is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college was founded in 1428 as a Benedictine hostel, in time coming to be known as Buckingham College, before being refounded in 1542 as the College of St Mary Magdalene.
We are a small but lively academic institution, committed to excellence in intellectual work, to the care and nurture of all our Members, and to the broad vision of University education as a preparation for an active, rich engagement in society and culture.

Did mission work in Honduras and Guatemala and had jobs including mail carrier, grade school teacher and drugstore part-owner before entering Dominicans.
