The band, which included Steve Winwood , Denny Laine, Ric Grech and Chris Wood, proved too unwieldy to sustain. He also enjoyed a brief tenure as organist in the Jack Bruce Band, although, as Bruce points out, ‘enjoyed’ probably isn’t the right word.

Baker went on to form his own short-lived group, Ginger Baker’s Air Force, in 1970, after which he mostly stayed out of the spotlight and spent much of his time in the 1970s in Lagos, Nigeria.
