St Edmund’s College Summer School achieved the maximum score in the new British Council inspection system, making it the UK’s top Centre of Excellence, alongside two other colleges. St Edmund’s gained the highest possible rating of ‘strong’ across the fourteen categories in which it could be judged.
This summer school programme provides 22 hours of instruction-based teaching per week, a full schedule of on and off-site activities and full day off-site excursions twice a week. In-class teaching aims to have a student class size of 12 or less students per class. Session structure.

The Summer School is an integral part of St Edmund's College, and several members of staff work year-round preparing for the summer period. Including nurses, teachers, house parents and managers there are over 50 people employed by the Summer School each year. Off-site excursions are an important part of the Summer School experience. Our academic session content is linked to our weekly excursion venues. Students will go on one excursoin during he week as well as two each weekend! Examples of excursions include: Central London Royal Walk. Buckingham Palace.
