She held her first speech about women’s liberation at the founding Congress of the Second International in Paris in 1889 and would become one of the most influential speakers of the social democratic and the proletarian women’s movements.

Clara Zetkin dedicó su vida a luchar hombro con hombro a favor de las mujeres; desde su trinchera de periodista, oradora, política, feminista combatió las leyes antisocialistas de Bismarck y participo activamente en política desde la temprana edad de 20 años. Clara Zetkin nació el 5 de julio de 1857 en Wiedenau (Sajonia). Hija de Gottfried Eissner y Josephine Vitale Eissner. Mientras realiza estudios de magisterio en Leipzig, contrae matrimonio con un estudiante ruso, Osip Zetkin, y se afilia al Partido Socialdemócrata en el año 1881.
