The Larry Sanders Show is an American sitcom set in the office and studio of a fictional late-night talk-show. The series was created by Garry Shandling and Dennis Klein and aired from August 1992 to May 1998 on the HBO cable television network. Throughout its run, numerous celebrities have made guest appearances, usually playing fictionalized versions of themselves.
Later he directed episodes of Shandling's HBO series, The Larry Sanders Show, for which he received a Cable Ace Award nomination. In 1992 London’s first feature film as a director, Diary of a Hitman, was released, starring Forest Whitaker, Sherilyn Fenn, Sharon Stone and Lois Chiles.

Elmore Rual "Rip" Torn Jr. (February 6, 1931 – July 9, 2019) was an American actor whose career spanned more than 60 years. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for playing Marsh Turner in Cross Creek (1983). Torn's portrayal of Artie the producer on The Larry Sanders Show received six Emmy Award nominations, winning in 1996.
Even the name encourages this ambiguity; obviously Larry is a version of Garry, but just to drive the point home and, in essence, make it very clear just how unclear the distinction between Shandling, the actor, and Sanders, the comic who himself 'plays' the role of a talk show host, is intended to be, consider the incredible similarity of those two names, Shandling and Sanders.
