Beck, Bogert & Appice was a rock supergroup trio that included guitarist Jeff Beck, formerly of The Yardbirds and The Jeff Beck Group, alongside bassist Tim Bogert and drummer Carmine Appice, both former members of Vanilla Fudge and Cactus. After forming in the fall of 1972, the band recorded its eponymous debut album.
But no nuance is more telling than the black-and-white graphic design of the box itself: it is at once homage to the late Jeff Beck as well as a stark declaration about the chemistry–or rather lack thereof–between the British guitar genius and bassist/vocalist Tim Bogert and drummer/vocalist Carmine Appice, erstwhile members of Vanilla Fudge and Cactus.
