This trail is great for birding, hiking, and running, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.
There are a few small shops and cafes along the seafront along with a couple of pleasant parks. In 1953 an unidentified sea creature was washed up on the shores of Canvey Island. Dubbed “The Canvey Island Monster” it is now believed the 1.5 metre animal was an anglerfish of some description.

The council has submitted the application to deliver a new pavilion building and car park extension - which could see 44 new spaces created. A previous plan to redevelop the seafront area of the island collapsed during the Covid pandemic.
