Johnny Weissmuller. Peter Johann Weissmüller ( Freidorf ( Roemenië ), 2 juni 1904 – Acapulco ( Mexico ), 20 januari 1984) was een zwemkampioen in de jaren 20 van de twintigste eeuw en als filmster de vertolker van Tarzan tussen 1932 en 1948. Hij nam tweemaal deel aan de Olympische Spelen en won hierbij in totaal zes medailles .

16 de dic. de 2023 · In July of 1927, Johnny Weissmuller and his brother Peter hauled 20 people from the depths of Lake Michigan after an excursion boat keeled over during a sudden violent storm. Of the 20 people, 11 survived. Johnny was swimming, in training for the Chicago River Marathon, an annual 3-mile race, while Peter rowed a boat alongside him.
