The Clark Sisters have a compelling story, but this movie misses so many opportunities to explore past the sisters and their family dynamic. The movie is so committed to their family dynamic, it doesn’t explore their rise to stardom, the music industry, or domestic violence within the family (and quite possibly a link between Mattie and Twinkie marrying abusers).
