Sisters Vicki Peterson (guitar/vocals) and Debbi Peterson (drums/vocals) formed a band in Los Angeles with Susanna Hoffs (vocals/guitar) in December 1980 that was first called the Colours, then the Supersonic Bangs and finally the Bangs. Annette Zilinskas was the band’s first bass guitarist.
