25 de nov. de 2022 · The Bethesda, Maryland-raised Gordon, who first gained notice as part of the CBGB scene in the proto-punk band Tuff Darts, was one of the leading lights of the neo-rockabilly scene. He’d recorded his first two albums, 1977’s Robert Gordon With Link Wray and 1978’s Fresh Fish Special, with the “Rumble” guitar legend.

Robert Gordon groeide op in Bethesda, een voorstad van Washington. Het voornemen om muzikant te worden, kwam bij hem op tijdens een zomerkamp in 1962, toen hij daar na aansporing van zijn ook aanwezige broer de song Lonely Teardrops zong.
