6 de oct. de 2023 · Laura Mvula’s dreamy blend of transparent songwriting and jazz-inflected neo-soul and R&B has made her one of the most acclaimed singers in the UK. Born in Birmingham in 1986, Mvula was introduced to jazz by her father before learning to play the piano at age eight.
Biografie. Laura Mvula stammt aus einer sehr musikalischen Familie mit vielen in der Musik tätigen Verwandten. Ihre Mutter stammt aus St. Kitts und ihr Vater aus Jamaika.Sie lernte mit acht Jahren Klavier und mit zehn Geige und belegte später am Birmingham Conservatoire einen vierjährigen Studiengang in Komposition. Außerdem hat sie eine klassische Gesangsausbildung.
