The Hundred in the Hands is the eponymous debut studio album by American electronic music duo The Hundred in the Hands, released on September 11, 2010 by Warp.The album received generally favorable reviews, with a Metacritic score of 74 out of 100, based on 13 reviews. In January 2011, the album earned the duo a nomination in the Pop/Rock category at The 10th Annual Independent Music Awards.
The Hundred In The Hands. New York. Eleanore Everdell and Jason Friedman signed to Warp Records not long after recording their first song and have been making music together ever since. On Warp, they released the “This Desert EP", (2010) S/T LP (2010), “Red Night” (2012), and 4 singles featuring remixes from Andy Stott, Patten &; Kyle Hall.

Named after the phrase the Lakota Nation gave to the Fetterman Battle/Massacre of 1866 in Wyoming -- in which Crazy Horse led his warriors to a victory that resulted in the death of 100 white soldiers -- the Hundred in the Hands fuse synth pop with post-punk and dream pop elements, making for a sound that’s equally danceable and dreamy.
Indie dance has hit it stride in the past few years, and The Hundred in the Hands' self-titled debut underscores this. Starting off with a Moroder-like synth and 80s-cool vocals on "Young Aren't Young," to the more rock-oriented "Lovesick (Once Again)," they manage to have their crossover status and eat it too!
