Stromboli ist eine italienische Insel mit dem gleichnamigen, aktiven Vulkan vom Typ eines Strato- oder Schichtvulkans. Die Insel liegt im Mittelmeer nördlich von Sizilien . Stromboli gehört mit seinen Nachbarinseln Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Panarea, Filicudi und Alicudi zur Inselgruppe der Äolischen oder Liparischen Inseln im Tyrrhenischen Meer.
