18 de ene. de 2023 · By MICHAEL GINGOLD. Ten years later, the veteran filmmaker is issuing “The Authentic Cut” of his genre outing. Lionsgate has announced a February 28 Blu-ray + Digital release of B’TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE, the movie previously known simply as TWIXT.
The following review contains SPOILERS because I will be comparing and contrasting two cuts of the movie: the 2012 version known as "Twixt", and a new cut of the movie released on Blu-Ray this week called "B'Twixt Now and Sunrise: The Authentic Cut", which is about 8 minutes shorter by my estimation and contains numerous substantial revisions (but no new footage).

The enthralling gothic thriller follows a down-on-his-luck writer who is visited by a ghost and becomes immersed in a local murder mystery while promoting his latest novel.

6 de mar. de 2023 · This new B’Twixt Now and Sunrise version trims and reorders several scenes, while removing a whimsical epilogue that leaves the new cut with a much more nakedly vulnerable ending. If the original cut was part fairy tale and part fable, this new version is part dream and part confession. What once seemed whimsical is now more cutting.
