Marina Abramovićová (* 30. listopadu 1946 Bělehrad) je srbská umělkyně známá pro své působení na poli performance art a body art. Působí od 70. let 20. století a zájem vzbudila také díky spolupráci s německým umělcem Ulayem. Často zapojuje do své práce diváky, zkoumá složitý vztah mezi umělcem a publikem.
Marina Abramović (Beograd, 30. novembar 1946 – ) je umjetnica performansa svjetske reputacije, jugoslovenskog, odnosno srpskog i crnogorskog porijekla.Živi u Amsterdamu i Njujorku. Već od početka svoje karijere u Beogradu, ranih 1970ih, krčila je put performansu kao vidu vizuelne umjetnosti, koristeći tijelo i kao subjekt i kao medij.
For nearly forty years, Marina Abramović has been expanding the boundaries of art. Using her own body as a vehicle, she has pushed herself to the ultimate limits, often exposing herself to lethal hazards to create performance art that is shocking, challenging and deeply moving. This exhibition is her first major retrospective in Europe, and was produced in close collaboration with the artist.
Marina Abramović es una de las artistas contemporáneas más importantes y reconocidas del mundo. Por su obra y amplia actividad en el performance se le ha apodado como “la abuela del performance”. Con una trayectoria que comprende más de cuatro décadas, su trabajo se consolida como una exploración de la relación entre el artista y la audiencia a través de las manifestaciones corporales.
