Lewis Arquette (14 December 1935 – 10 February 2001) was a veteran film actor, writer and producer, whose best known role was as "J.D. Pickett" on the long-running CBS-TV series, The Waltons, where he worked from 1978–1981.Lewis assumed the role of Sam Franklin, Alice's butcher boyfriend turned husband, in the 1988 ABC-TV Christmas holiday film A Very Brady Christmas.
