22 de may. de 2024 · After the journey, Raphael explains to Tobit that he was sent by God to heal Tobit’s blindness and protect Sarah, Tobiah’s future wife, from the demon Asmodeus. Then in Tobit 12:15, he demonstrates his power to heal as he announced that he is “the angel Raphael, one of the seven, who stand before the Lord”.
Raphael helps Tobit and Sarah. 16 At that very moment, the prayers of both Sarah and Tobit were heard in God’s glorious presence. 17 Raphael was sent to heal the two of them: Tobit, by removing the white spots from his eyes to see God’s light with his eyes again, and Sarah, Raguel’s daughter, by giving her as a wife to Tobias, Tobit’s son, and by ridding her of the evil demon.
Rafael (Ibrani רָפָאֵל, Rāfāʾēl; bahasa Inggris: Raphael; "Allah yang menyembuhkan", "tabib Allah" atau "obat Tuhan") merupakan malaikat agung pertama yang tercatat dalam Kitab Tobit dan 1 Henokh, beberapa abad sebelum kedatangan Kristus. Dalam tradisi Yahudi, Rafael dikenal sebagai salah satu dari tiga sosok utusan ilahi yang disambut oleh Abraham di pohon tarbatin di Mamre.
