Located about two miles south of town, the park is over 300 acres in size with a 17 acre lake that gives anglers a wide selection of game fishing enjoyment. The park was developed between 1938 and 1941 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the National Park Service (NPS).
VFW members and volunteers will be placing flags on the graves of nearly 2,500 veterans in 12 cemeteries in Henryetta and the surrounding towns starting at 10 a.m. Any individual or organization that would like to participate in the project should call Tricia Bear at (479) 414-0952. Those flags will be picked up at 4 p.m. Memorial Day.
