John Landis (born August 3, 1950) is an American film director, screenwriter, actor, and producer. He is known for his comedies, his horror films, and his music videos with singer Michael Jackson.

John Landis (født 1950) er en amerikansk skuespiller, regissør, forfatter og produsent. Landis begynte sin filmkarriere i postrommet til 20th Century Fox, etter at han sluttet på skolen som 17-åring. Han fikk seg senere jobb som produksjonsassistent på filmen Kellys helter som ble spilt inn i Jugoslavia i 1970.
