The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music International Program for Outstanding Foreign Students was established in the summer of 2008. The program provides outstanding international students with the opportunity to live and study in Tel Aviv under optimal conditions. All international students receive a full-tuition scholarship.

The hall boasts two excellent Steinway Concert pianos, one of which was donated in 2006 by Mr. Josef Buchmann in honour of Maestro Zubin Mehta's 70 th birthday. One of the world's elite music schools, it has been home to many great artists from Itzhak Perlman , Pinchas Zukerman, Menahem Pressler and Yoheved (Veda) Kaplinsky to young stars such as Lahav Shani and Boris Giltburg .
The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music's Orchestral Training Program allows 100 outstanding students, who fully participate in the orchestra's activities, to study under a full exemption from tuition fee. The Diana Mary Steyer Scholarship Fund for Excellence in Music Performance.
Israeli flutist Guy Eshed is principal flutist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under it’s music director Zubin Mehta. He held the same position with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence Opera House) under Zubin Mehta, Berlin Staatskapelle under Daniel Barenboim, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Harding and the Manchester Camerata under Douglas Boyd.
