Fotheringhay Castle, also known as Fotheringay Castle, was a High Middle Age Norman Motte-and-bailey castle in the village of Fotheringhay miles (5.6 km) to the north of the market town of Oundle, Northamptonshire, England ( grid reference TL061930 ). It was probably founded around 1100 by Simon de Senlis, Earl of Northampton. [1]
Fotheringay is the self-titled album by the group formed by Sandy Denny after she left Fairport Convention in 1969, and was the group's only contemporaneous release. It was recorded in 1970 with former Eclection member and Denny's future husband Trevor Lucas , with Gerry Conway , Jerry Donahue , and Pat Donaldson .
