Warren G. Warren Griffin III (born November 10, 1970) is an American rapper, record producer, and DJ known for his role in West Coast rap 's 1990s ascent. [1] A pioneer of G-funk, he attained mainstream success with the 1994 single "Regulate", a duet with Nate Dogg.
Warren G grew up in Long Beach, California listening to his parents’ collection of jazz, funk, and soul, nurturing a deep love for music. In 1990, he formed the group 213, named after the Long Beach area code, with his friends Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg.
