Richard Lester is the Japan Steel Industry Professor and Vice Provost at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he oversees the international activities of the Institute. From 2009 to 2015 he served as head of MIT’s Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. He is the founding director and faculty chair of the MIT Industrial Performance Center.

Richard Lester (født 19. januar 1932) er en amerikansk-født filminstruktør med base i Storbritannien. Liv. Lester blev født i Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Han var interesseret i britisk film, især Ealing Studios-komedier, og flyttede til London i 1953. Han var instruktør på flere tv-programmer.
