  6. Description. Dana Gillespie first made her name as a teenage singer (and songwriter) in the 1960s, with a string of memorable singles and albums for Pye and Decca. In 1971, she teamed up with David Bowie’s management company MainMan, joining Bowie at RCA Records. It would be two years before her next record – but it was worth the wait.

  7. These recordings are from 1971 to the end of 1974 dur9ng her time with Mainman. Gillespie had a solid career in folk, pop, and stage musicals, which later matured into blues. For the past 18 years she’s been the organiser of the huge Blues Festival on the exclusive Caribbean island of Mustique, which runs for 15 days every January, and is a major gig for top blues musicians.
