Elder son of Stanley Baldwin (1867-1947), 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley, and his wife Lucy, eldest daughter of Edward Lucas Jenks Ridsdale of Rottingdean (Sussex), born 1 March 1899. Educated at Eton (which he hated) and did not go to University.

  4. Greencastle Hill is situated just to the east of the village of Jennings. The 2nd Earl Baldwin was cremated and his ashes were interred there and his grave is marked by a gravestone. The inscription, which is now difficult to decipher, reads "Here lie the ashes of Oliver Ridsdale, Second Earl Baldwin of Bewdley, Born March 1899 Died August 1958.
