The Wire är en amerikansk kriminal-dramaserie som utspelar sig i Baltimore, Maryland där den också är inspelad. Serien har skapats av manusförfattaren / producenten och tidigare kriminalreportern David Simon , tillsammans med tidigare polisen Ed Burns och manusförfattaren George Pelecanos .
