Nigel Smith joined SNOLAB as Director during July 2009. He currently holds a full Professorship at Laurentian University, adjunct Professor status at Queen’s University, and a visiting Professorial chair at Imperial College, London.

Summary. Dr. Nigel Smith is an astro-particle physicist and the Director of the SNOLAB International Deep Underground Science Facility near Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Since 1992, Dr. Smith has been actively involved in the development and operation of deep underground detectors for dark matter research and the associated infrastructures required.
Previously, Nigel was Chief Marketing Officer for Ninety One after initially joining the firm as Global Head of Product Development in 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Nigel was Product Strategy Director at M&G Investments, where he built and led a multi-functional team of product developers, in addition to responsibility for wider business development strategy.
