Alan Lomax (January 31, 1915 – July 19, 2002) was an important American folklorist and musicologist. He was one of the great field collectors of folk music of the 20th century, recording thousands of songs in the United States, Great Britain, the West Indies, Italy, and Spain.
9 de feb. de 2007 · This is a wonderful CD; the women talk about various things related to the songs, and then they sing them. Since they were interviewed in the 1950s, they are much closer to the old ways, and true Gaelic pronunciation, than if it were done more recently. I actually enjoyed the part where they talk as much as, or even more than, the songs.
