The Equals sont un groupe de musique anglais de funk/pop/rock/reggae qui s'est constitué à North London dans le Grand Londres en 1965.. Le groupe était composé de Eddy Grant, Dervin Gordon, Lincoln Gordon, Pat Lloyd, John Hall [1].Ils étaient sous le label President Records [2] et RCA.Le groupe est surtout connu pour la chanson Baby, Come Back, grand succès en 1967-1968.
Der Name der Band spielt darauf an, dass in ihr – in den 1960er Jahren noch ungewöhnlich – schwarze und weiße Musiker zusammen spielten. 1966 erhielt die Band einen Plattenvertrag. Unequalled Equals peaked at number ten in the UK. The album is rated 3.28 on Rate Your Music. This is the first appearance on an album of the song "Baby, Come Back", which would eventually reach the top of the UK Singles Chart the following year. The group's first single came from this album: "I Won't Be There", backed with "Fire".

My copy says, Unequalled Equals PLUS!.Maybe it's an import/comp? Anyway, as the title suggests it contains this entire album - plus - a few more songs, including the Equals big hit 'Baby Come Back.' I've been a fan of that particular tune for a long while now but never felt the urge to explore the rest of their catalogue thinking they were probably a one hit wonder type band.
